Y3 Horwich Heritage Centre Visit April 2015

Y3 Horwich Heritage Visit on PhotoPeach

Our topic this term is Victorians. We have visited Horwich heritage centre to learn more…
We split into two groups, one group had a Victorian classroom experience while the other learnt all about Victorian home life. We had to recite our 2x tables and wrote on slates…they didn’t use pencils and paper we had to use chalk! If you were naughty you had to wear a dunces hat.

In the home they had a stove to do all the cooking on, and the toilets were outside! They had a tub that they filled with water once a week and dad went first then mum (but only if she needed one) then the children, boys first from oldest to youngest then girls, imagine if you were the youngest girl.YUK! They had stone hot water bottles that they heated in the fire.

We had a great time and learnt lots of interesting facts that will help us this term.
Thank you for reading.
